HotSign Setup Guide: Raspberry Pi

Ensure to have the entire set of components:

  • Raspberry Pi board
    • Model 3 B+ or
    • Model 4 B
  • MicroSD memory card (16GB+, Class10+) with SD adapter
  • Raspberry Pi case
  • Power adapter 2.5A, micro USB or Type-C (depending on the model)
  • HDMI to HDMI cable (or micro-HDMI to HDMI for RPI4)

Insert the board to the case and secure then plug all cables.

Raspberry Pi player configuration

To setup the player, please follow the next steps:

  1. Download the memory card image from the Partner Portal (or contact the Hoteza team).

  2. Write the image to a microSD card, using balenaEtcher:

    balenaEtcher - Flash OS images to SD cards & USB drives

  3. Insert card to Raspberry Pi (ensure you are inserting card correct side)

  4. Connect power and HDMI to Raspberry Pi

  5. Wait 2 minutes to boot up and show screen ID

  1. Login to CMS https://hotsign.hoteza.com

  2. Press on a Add new screen button.

  1. On appeared window fill the following:
  • Installer code - fill in the installer code from the screen ID
  • Screen name - give a name to your screen.
  • Schedule - choose one of the schedules you want your screen to display. Note: you will not be able to add a screen without a schedule. Create a new schedule first and then start adding new screen(s).
